Why working with your Shadow Self is an Important part of your healing journey

in Shamanism

If you keep experiencing, attracting or in fear of the same situations, feelings, scenarios, people in your jobs, relationships or other areas in your life my Shamanic healing methods can help you find the answers you seek.

The Shamanic Healing Perspective

I bet these patterns cause you stress, anxiety, and frustration because you don’t know why it happens and why you can’t stop it from repeating. 

From my professional and personal experience the reason this keeps repeating is you’re still living in the past, and you’re energetically vibrating at whatever your deepest wound that is unresolved or unhealed so you keep attracting the same stories, people, situations etc.

Another factor in the equation is you have a Protector self (Shadow Self ) that still believes it needs to shield and protect you from the world. Your Protector self is the caretaker of your emotional and memory based re-actions.

The Shadow Self was born out of past hurtful experiences, most often one of these core wounds: rejection, abandonment, betrayal, humiliation, worthlessness and/or prolonged physical or emotional abuse.

“If we do not work on all three levels — body, feeling, mind — the symptoms of our distress will keep returning, as the body goes on repeating the story stored in its cells until it is finally listened to and understood.” ~ Alice Miller

Working with your The Protector – Shadow Self

Your Shadow Self can be also be called your inner saboteur. This deep unconscious part of you isn’t necessarily bad but it does intentionally do things that might seem unhelpful.

Like keeping you in fear, dis-empowering emotions, self-sabotage, negative thought patterns and reinforce limited core beliefs because at some point in your life you assigned it the role safe-keeper. They were programmed to steer you away from similar feelings, situations, people so you will not have to experience the hurt ever again.

Safety and self preservation are their key motivator and defense mechanisms purpose is a deep love of yourself.

So why then does the same situations and people keep finding you if you’re Shadow Self is protecting you?

That’s easy, it’s because you came here with a purpose. Your Soul – Spirit – Divine Self wants you to face and address your past hurt – it’s partly why you are here this time round. What if you choice these hurtful experiences because it will help you resolve past Karma, learn something to support and live out your Soul and Divine purpose.

Shamanic healing, journeying and energy work, will show you when you listen to and understand your old wounds you can fully dissolve your Protector Shadow Self so it will no longer wish or feel the need to run it’s protective programming.
